News out this week suggests that rather than be put off by more and more stories of Brits having to face their worst nightmare and have their properties bulldozed down after being built illegally, there are still Brits out there who are taking advantage of the current economic crisis in Spain and are continuing to buy property at rock bottom prices.
The news published in The Telegraph this week states “British Interest in Spanish property surges” and highlights an increase of 166% in searches for Valencian property in particular.
Marbella Property Interest
At Property Point Marbella we have also seen that there are Brits out there who are looking to buy property in Spain. Buyers are more savvy and know there are deals out there to be had and as a result, are eager to have a good look around to track down the best property offers and bargain deals.
Marbella has not escaped the talk of real estate corruption nor of illegal builds but recently there have also been reports “property amnesties” being issued to certain locations and properties. Rather than demolish more properties, those with the amnesty are no longer being designated illegal builds, to the great relief of Brits who have already brought in those areas.
However, as Marbella property bargains are not hanging around and are being sold quicker than usual, we also advise buyers not to take too long when making final decisions.
